Entsprechend dem Nyquist-Theorem sollte die Abtastfrequenz das Zweifache der höchsten abzubildenden Frequenz betragen. In der Praxis sollte der Übergangsbereich des Antialiasing-Filters welcher das Signal um spektrale Energie oberhalb der oberen Grenzfrequenz bereinigt und ca. 10% bis 20% des Passbandes breit ist berücksichtigt werden. Dies resultiert in einer optimalen Samplingrate von 48KHz.
